I'm not sure if this phenomena is something everyone's familiar with, at least I didn't have a clue untill I moved to where I am currently located. One evening I looked out my window and saw something no one except for people who's had a big dose of something very illegal would normally see. Big, multi-coloured clouds! I freaked out and called my mother to have her confirm I was seeing things, when she told me this was some kind of phenomena sometimes happening here, and that we call them 'earl clouds' and they can be seen sometimes during the winter, in Scandinavia and close to both of the Poles I think, also known as " Nacreous Clouds." And allthough it's commonly "known" here, I don't think it's something that happens very often. At least I've only seen them 3-4 times. And this time, I was lucky enough to have a camera with me to catch it.
I'm not sure what causes it, but I think it's either due to pollution, or it's caused by sunlight refracting in ice crystals in the clouds. The ice crystals acting like prisms, spreading the rainbow colors across the sky. I've never seen them quite this big and "perfect" before. I hope you'll enjoy.
